Purpose. The study attempts to answer the question whether the risk of developing stochastic effects in the next few years is affected by multiply exposition to ionizing radiation due to computed tomography in patients with oncological pathology.

Materials and methods. As effect, cancer mortality has been used for analysis. Diagnostic exposure received by the patient during computed tomography has been considered as a radiation risk factor. The survival time and the amount of diagnostic exposures depending on age attained and other risk factors were evaluated. Among surveyed, two groups were formed out: the personnel of a nuclear industrial complex, exposed to ionizing radiation from professional sources, and the population living on the territory adjacent to the nuclear industrial complex, which has no ever been exposed to professional radiation.

Results. The relative risk of death from malignant neoplasms depending on radiation and non-radiation factors has been estimated.

Conclusion. The results of the study provide additional information which is necessary for carrying out multi-factor epidemiological analysis to assess the risk of low doses of non-occupational exposure of the personnel of nuclear industry and the population living in the surrounding area.
